Polly Cooper and Valley Forge
Polly Cooper was an Oneida woman who walked 300 miles with her people to bring 600 bushels of corn to starving soldiers at Valley Forge in the winter of 1777–78. She stayed to cook and nurse the sick. The Oneida Nation’s support was a turning point in the war.
